What features are coming soon?
We are planning to release the following features in the near future:
- More comprehensive and clearer statistics and analysis
- Quick check-in widgets for iOS and Android home screens
- Animals on the island
- Support for building small houses on the island
- Adding some sound effects
(These are tentative plans and may be adjusted -- the release order may not follow the list above.)

Does it support multi-device and cross-platform sync?
Habit Island currently supports iOS, iPadOS, and Android. You can log in on multiple devices simultaneously, and your data will be automatically synced across them.
How do coins and experience points work?
When you check in for a habit, you randomly receive a certain amount of coins and experience points.
Generally speaking, coins increase with the difficulty level of the habit. Specifically:
- Checking in for a medium-difficulty habit yields roughly 2x the rewards of an easy habit
- Checking in for a hard-difficulty habit yields roughly 2x the rewards of a medium-difficulty habit, or 4x the rewards of an easy habit
Experience points, however, do not vary with difficulty.
Note that the above describes only the average values. In reality, the coins and experience you get from each check-in are random, so you might even earn more coins from checking in for an easy habit than from a medium-difficulty one.
Additionally, as your total daily coins and experience accumulate, subsequent rewards for the same day will gradually decrease, eventually trending toward zero.
Since I set the difficulty and tasks myself, couldn't I just farm a ton of coins?
Yes, you could. But Habit Island is simply a tool meant to provide positive motivation. When you check in and feel a sense of accomplishment, we hope that feeling comes from within yourself -- not just the thrill of earning coins. Whether it's earning coins, leveling up, or making your island more lively, these are all outward reflections of the amazing achievements you've made while building good habits. Those achievements have always been within you -- Habit Island just helps you record them and see them more clearly.
What's the best way to earn coins quickly?
Same as above -- on Habit Island, the only way we advocate for earning coins is to genuinely stick with your good habits. Having a lot of coins doesn't necessarily mean you've built many good habits, but if you've built many good habits on Habit Island, you'll definitely accumulate a satisfying "fortune."
Can my habits be automatically checked off or hidden after I complete them?
You can set a "Frequency" and "Target" when creating a habit -- for example, once a day or twice a week. Once you reach your set target, the habit card will appear as crossed off, so you can clearly see which habits you still need to complete.
Is my data and privacy secure?
We will:
- Regularly back up your data
- Do our best to keep your data safe, reliable, and not泄露
- Provide data export functionality in the future; until then, you can contact us via email to get a copy of your data
We will not:
- Disclose your data to third parties without your permission
- Use your contact information for purposes other than identity verification
Will Habit Island charge money in the future?
To keep the project running, we may adopt a "mostly free basic features + paid subscription for a few premium features" model in the future. However, we have no plans to start offering paid subscriptions in the near term. Even if we do introduce paid subscriptions in the future, we will give existing users a certain amount of complimentary subscription time (the exact amount may vary depending on how early the account was registered).
Will Habit Island be open-sourced in the future?
We may open-source the code in the future and iterate as an open-source community project. While there is a good chance of this happening, there are no concrete plans at the moment. For commercial considerations, even if it is open-sourced in the future, it will most likely not use a permissive license like MIT.
